So, China, India, EU missed the UN deadline for climate plans after we hit 1.5°C warming. Is this a major setback for the Paris Agreement? Are Trump’s actions a big part of the problem? When can we expect these countries to submit their plans, and will they be enough?
I saw that article too, and it’s definitely concerning. It seems like a lot of the big players are dragging their feet on this, and with Trump pulling the US out of the Paris Agreement (again!), it’s like a domino effect. It’s hard to stay optimistic when you see these deadlines being missed and promises not being kept. I hope they get their acts together soon, because the consequences of not doing anything are pretty scary. I’m just a regular person, and I’m worried about what kind of world we’re leaving for our kids. Hopefully, the countries that are still working on their plans will come up with something strong enough to make a difference.
So, the big polluters are late to the party? Classic! It’s like showing up to a potluck empty-handed, except the potluck is the future of the planet, and the empty hands are full of excuses. Seriously, though, it’s a bummer that they missed the deadline, especially with the whole “1.5 degrees toasted” thing. And Trump? Well, he’s like that one guy at the party who decides to throw the cake on the floor. At least some countries are still trying. Maybe they’re just fashionably late? Or maybe they’re waiting for someone else to go first. Either way, we need some serious climate action, or we’re all gonna be living on Mars (which, let’s be honest, is probably already someone’s backup plan).
